Welcome to Tiz Tam Fam Nature Refuge

About Us
Tiz Tam Fam is a privately owned 120-acre nature reserve nestled in Mount Byron, a scenic journey just two hours inland from Brisbane in the beautiful Somerset region. Our property is a haven for biodiversity, backing onto the D’Aguilar National Park and featuring a crystal-clear creek (which runs most of the year, though it can dry up in extended dry periods), pristine rainforest, and dry eucalypt forest.
This land is home to a vast array of native plants, birds, animals, and fungi, including a number of species listed as “vulnerable” due to declining numbers. Our passion is to protect and preserve this precious environment.
We support scientific research and education by hosting scientific societies (such as the Queensland Mycological Society), University researchers, PhD and Masters students and various not-for-profit organisations delivering educational programs.
Researchers and educators who would like to learn more about our property can contact us at info@tiztamfam.com.au. We look forward to sharing our special piece of the Somerset region with you.
